By DANJUMA JOSEPH, Lafia-
Senator Ahmed Wadada, representing Nasarawa West, has formally withdrawn his membership from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), citing ongoing internal conflicts as the primary reason for his departure.
In a letter dated Thursday, addressed to the SDP Chairman of Tudun Kofa Ward in Keffi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, titled ” _Notification of Resignation from the Social Democratic Party (SDP),”_ Wadada announced his immediate exit from the party.
“I have decided to resign my membership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) with immediate effect,” Wadada stated in the letter.
He explained that his decision stemmed from “persistent internal crises that have significantly disrupted the party’s unity.”
He further noted, “These ongoing disputes have caused deep divisions and led to numerous legal battles within the SDP.”
Expressing gratitude for his time with the party, Wadada remarked, “I am thankful for the opportunities provided to me during my tenure with the SDP and cherish the relationships and experiences gained.”
However, he emphasized the need to move forward, stating, “I believe it is time for me to seek new paths and opportunities.”
The senator’s resignation marks a significant shift in Nasarawa’s political landscape, as observers await his next steps.
