Borno State Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, represented Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum at the unveiling of a Strategic Plan for partnership and development with the International Organization for Migration (IOM/UN Nigeria) at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja.
The initiative aligns with the federal government’s efforts to support migrants and displaced communities.
In his goodwill message, Kadafur praised IOM Nigeria for their steadfast commitment and resilience in delivering aid in challenging environments like Borno.

He highlighted their vital role in addressing the socio-economic pressures faced by youth, migrants, and underserved communities nationwide.
The IOM Nigeria Chief of Mission reaffirmed their dedication to collaborating with the Nigerian government, development partners, civil society, and local communities to drive impactful change.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Minister of Women Affairs, the Chief of Defence Staff, and others. Kadafur was accompanied by Dr. Mairo Mandara, Special Adviser on SDGs and Humanitarian Support, and Abdurahman Terab, Senior Special Assistant, among others.
