Osun poll: Gunmen attack home of Labour Party guber candidate, Lasun Yusuff

Lasun Yusuff, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in the Osun gubernatorial election.

Gunmen in the early hours of Monday have attacked the country home of Lasun Yusuff, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in the Osun gubernatorial election.

The yet to be identified gunmen came around 2am and shot indiscriminately at the building located at Oke-Ima area of the town.

Sources, however, disclosed that security personnel attached to the compound were able to repel the attack with no one injured.

Meanwhile, Lasun Yusuff, who is a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed the attack while briefing reporters on Monday, hours after the incident was reported to have taken place.

Narrating how the incident occurred, he explained that the assailants invaded his house very early in the morning and began to shoot sporadically.

According to him, a team of police operatives has been drafted to his house and has since inspected the scene and taken custody of evidence.
