
Over 15,000 residents of Adamawa State have benefited from a free medical outreach organised by Senator Binos Yaroe, as part of his constituency service initiatives for the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the four days event at Demsa Local Government in Adamawa state, the senator said that the scheme was established to handle medical challenges of those that cannot afford to pay their medical bills.
The senator’s free medical outreachi treated patients for eyes complications and carried out surgery on patients with different medical challenges.
“Health is wealth, if you are healthy, you can work to feed yourself and your family but a sick man or woman cannot work. The money I put into this project can buy 10 cars, this means only 10 people can get those car and it is adding them problems..Who maintain the cars for them,? ” he said.
He commended the medical doctors for their dedication to duty and urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the free medical treatment.
The traditional ruler of Demsa LGA, Gladstone Teneke, who commended the senator for the initiative, urged other political office holders to initiate programs that have direct bearing on the people.
He expressed satisfaction with the high turnout of people within and outside Adamawa State to get free medical treatment.
The Commissioner for Health, Mr. Felix Tangwami, who commended senator Binos for the free medical outreach, said that the efforts of the senator has complimented Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s free health care delivery in the state..
He said that the present administration has built nine cottage hospitals across the state to tackle the problems in the health sector,
Tangwami disclosed that the new and old hospital were furnished with world best equipment and trained medical officials were employed to handle the equipment,
He added that Governor Fintiri led administration is committed to providing affordable health services to the people of Adamawa state and the nearby states of Taraba and Gombe,
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke to NATIONAL ACCORD, expressed joy over the Senator Yaroe’s free medical care and urged the lawmaker to sustain the scheme for human services,.
No fewer than 155 medical doctors and other medical officers drawn from various states participated in the program headed by Professor Micheal Missauno, of the University of Jos Teaching Hospital.
