
Bags of fertilizers distributed to the beneficiaries

The House of Representatives Member representing Hawul and Askira- Uba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly from Borno State , Dr. Hon. Usman Midala Balami, has distributed 2,200 assorted bags of fertilizer to his constituents amidst nationwide protests as people defy the protest to collect their bags of fertilizers
Flagging off the distribution in Marama town of Hawul Local Government Area on Thursday, the federal lawmaker said the gesture would empower farmers at this critical time of the rainy season, as the distribution cut across not only traditional rulers, religious leaders, but peasant farmers irrespective of ethnic or political inclination.

Dr. Balami, who applauded the people for conducting themselves peacefully by shunning the protests, assured them that he will continue to meet their yearnings and aspirations inline with his campaign promises, even as he had provided educational support, palliatives and empowerment initiatives to the constituents.
He added that an ad-hoc committee has been constituted for similar distribution in Askira-Uba LGA immediately to farmers to boost their produce during the raining season .
In an interview with our correspondent, Balami said: “apart from this gesture, he has sponsored many bills, in addition to provision of scholarship schemes, palliatives and empowerment initiatives across the constituency. ”
“In a bid to boost agricultural productivity and address food insecurity, I am glad to flag off this distribution of fertilizer to 2,200 beneficiaries across my constituency this farming season.
“This is line with our legislative agenda to support farmers and improve agricultural yields, thereby ensuring food security and economic growth in the constituency, and that is why we facilitated the supply of trucks of fertilizer to support farmers in Askira-Uba and Hawul Local Government Areas.
” I assured my constituents that we shall continue with our commitment to supporting agricultural development and addressing the challenges faced by farmers in our constituency.
” It is pertinent to note that an ad-hoc committee has been constituted for similar distribution in Askira-Uba LGA. I want to enjoin the beneficiaries to take good use of the products.
“Already, we have provided educational support, palliatives and empowerment initiatives to my people across the constituency”, Balami said.
In their vote of thanks, some farmers mostly peasant ones, Mallam Audu Ibrahim, James Ishaya Ndahi, Amos Buba Malgwi and Aishatu Iliya Bwala appreciated Dr. Balami for the gesture, which they said, it would go along way in improving agricultural productivity, number harvest and empowerment.
They collectively called on all and sundry to exercise patience and pray for the Federal lawmaker, as he go through every challenges, being the only member coming from opposition party in Borno state and a minority member at the National Assembly.
