Ramadan: Borno Dep Gov felicitates with Muslim Ummah

Borno State Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur has felicitated with Muslims Ummah and stressed the need for prayers for peace and stability in the country, as Muslims all over the world over get set to observe Ramadan fast.

The deputy governor urged Muslims to redouble their efforts in prayers and read the Holy Qur’an and attend Tafsir lectures, in order to seek God’s blessings and intervention toward over-coming challenges faced in Borno State and Nigeria in general, regarding peace and stability.

He also tasked Muslims to remember Internally Displaced Persons, destitute, widows, orphans and the poor people in their daily prayers , and also to support them with food, clothes and shelter so as to further strengthen peaceful co-existence .

“Tolerance, forgiveness and the message of peace, unity and harmony should be our priority at this time”, he said in a statement on Friday.

He further appealed to people in the state to continue to live in peace and embrace one another so as to make Borno State a wonderful place.

The deputy governor also appealed to marketers across the state to cut-down the prices of foodstuff during the Ramadan period so as to enable people buy commodities at affordable prices.

He also called for prayers for the gallant troops, CJTF and other security operatives, who are in the front line, for God Almighty to protect them and always give them victory over their enemies.

The deputy governor, however, said he remained optimistic that with serious prayers especially during this year’s Ramadan fasting all the security challenges facing the country would be overcome while remarkable progress and development could be achieved.
