Still basking in the euphoria of celebrating Governor Bassey Otu’s landmark support to the Calabar Golf Club, the Chairman Project Committee of the Club, Lady Anne Ene Ita has assured that the Committee will work assiduously in conjunction with the Club’s Management Committee to ensure that the ongoing project which is powered by the State government will be delivered on scheduled with high quality materials.
Exchanging views with sports journalists in Calabar, Lady Ita, who is also the Lady Captain of the Calabar Golf Club and a retired Federal Permanent Secretary, believed that with the state of the art facilities at their disposal, the Calabar Golf Club nay Cross River will soon be on International Sports map.
She thanked the Governor for his will power to transform the Club to International Standard having been neglected since it was officially Commissioned in 1991.
Earlier, the Consultant Supervising the Project, Engr. Francis Archibong, who conducted sports journalists around disclosed that the entire package is aimed at placing the club on the credit side amid global competition.
He explained that work on various areas including the perimeter fence, the clubhouse and the creation of new reception area have reached an advanced stage while the construction of a new Gate house, caddies shed and the car park are in various stages of completion.
