The Renewed Hope Initiative has launched a nationwide food outreach scheme, distributing essential items to vulnerable groups in Nasarawa State, following a successful rollout in Kano State in May 2024.
NATIONAL ACCORD reports that the initiative, under the Social Investment Program, aims to support the underprivileged, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s goal of ensuring food sufficiency for all.
The Vice Chairman of Renewed Hope Initiative and wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, symbolically handed over the food items for distribution to internally displaced persons, people living with disabilities, vulnerable groups, and leper colonies.
She announced that the initiative will also provide a Fifty Thousand Naira grant to 36,000 female petty traders across all states, with 1,000 beneficiaries per state.
The Governor of Nasarawa State, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, and the Emir of Lafia, Honorable Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad 1 (Retired), expressed their gratitude to the Renewed Hope Initiative for supporting vulnerable groups in the state.
This initiative according to him demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities and promoting food security nationwide.”
