
Bags of rice
The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has donated N6 million and 700 bags of 10kg rice to his constituents for sallah celebration.
The speaker said the gesture was to enable them celebrate Sallah with joy.
He made distribution on Wednesday in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Jatau said that the gesture was borne out of his continued commitment and desire to improve on the living standard of his constituents, before, during and after the sallah celebration.
“What I am doing is to put smile on the faces of the people of my constituency during the sallah celebration.
“It has been my usual tradition, during festivals like Sallah and Christmas, I always fall back home to identify with my people.
”I want to use this medium to call on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items.
“Today, I am distributing 700 bags of 10kg of rice and N6 million to my constituents where each person will be given N20,000 each to celebrate sallah,” he said.
Jatau urged those who are yet to benefit from his various interventions and other gestures, to be patient while assuring that his dividends of democracy would reach them and would also cut across.
The speaker assured them of inclusive leadership as well as sound and quality representation at the state legislature.
He urged them and the state at large to continue to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
” I want to call on the people of my constituency and the state to continue to give their maximum support to Sule to succeed.
” His Excellency has done well in almost all sectors of the economy. His projects cut across all local government areas of the state” Jatau added.
Jatau urged his constituents and the state at large to shun ethnic and religion politics in order to move the state and the country forward.
He urged Muslim faithful and other Nigerians to use the Ramadan period to pray for the unity, peace, security, progress and development of the country.
He appreciated Sule for appointing sons and daughters of Kokona local government into different government positions in the state.
Also speaking, Mr Agbawu Agbawu, the Chairman, Kokona LGA and Mr Terry Bado, the APC Chairman, Kokona LGA, commended Jatau for providing the much needed dividends of democracy to the people.
They were represented by the APC Secretary of the local government, Mr Luka Osu.
According to them, the speaker was making them proud while urging him to continue in that direction.
The officials urged other politicians to emulate the speaker’s gesture in order to improve on the standard of living of the people.
They assured the speaker of their loyalty and support at all times.(NAN)
