
Renowned Islamic scholar, late Sheikh Usman Dahiru Bauchi
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away after a brief illness on Thursday .
Senator Ndume’s condolence message is contained in a statement issued and signed by the senior legislative aide, Office of the Senator, Borno South, Junaid Maiva and made available to newsmen in Maiduguri on Thursday.
He described Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s passage as a great loss to the Muslim Ummah and the entire world.
The federal lawmaker extended his heartfelt condolence to the family of the late scholar, his students, and the followers of his respected school of thought (Darika).
He noted that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi lived a life defined by piety, knowledge, service, mentorship, and values that shaped generations and strengthened the spiritual fabric of the nation.
“The late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was a fountain of wisdom, a guide to many, and a beacon of moral clarity. His teachings, compassion, and lifelong commitment to the propagation of Islam will remain deeply cherished,” the senator said.
He added: “On behalf of myself, my family, and especially my constituents who follow the Darika of the late cleric.”
“I pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him eternal peace, and admits him into Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah also comfort his family and all who held him dearly.”
Senator Ndume called on the Muslim community to uphold the legacy of the late cleric by living according to the values he taught—faith, humility, and service to humanity.
