Sokoto State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) on Thursday flagged off the party’s membership e- registration with Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
This was followed by the State deputy governor, Idris Gobir, Minister of Labour and Productivity, Maigari Dingyadi, State Minister of Works, Mohammed Goronyo and followed by Ambassador designate, Dr Lulu Haruna.
Speaking before the registration, the State Party Chairman, Isa Achida, said the APC has demonstrated unimaginable leadership both in the state and nation at large.
Referring to the successes recorded in the state, Achida said it was majorly because of the fatherly guidance of the party leader, Senator Wamakko, the governor’s commitment to delivery of good governance and positive cooperation of all stakeholders.
He further noted that the e-registration which is intended to guage the party’s membership strength being the largest political party in Nigeria and Africa will continue with all members of the party subsequently.
Responding, Senator Wamakko said, ordinarily, the governor should have been registered as number one but because he was far away in Saudi Arabia performing religious obligations, the process has to commence as planned.
While thanking the entire people of Sokoto, Senator Wamakko said APC as a party with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the helm of affairs meant well for the country.
“I have the honor to start the registration of our great party the APC here in Sokoto to the glory and honour of Almighty Allah and the benefit of humanity because the APC is the party for Nigerians”, he said.
