
Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of all citizens in the state.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of palliatives to needy Nigerians at the Government House, the governor assured that his policies and programs are designed to make life better for all.
In line with this promise, the governor announced the addition of 12,362 bags of 25kg rice to the initial 12,367 bags donated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the people of Sokoto State. The governor also disclosed that his administration has ordered the purchase of 300 trucks of rice to be sold to the people at a highly subsidized rate of less than 52 percent.

Governor Aliyu commended President Tinubu for his efforts to address the security challenges in Sokoto State, including the relocation of service chiefs to flush out bandits and other enemies of the state.
He also praised the President for his commitment to the well-being of Nigerians, citing the recent award of a contract for the construction of a road from Illela in Sokoto to Badagri in Lagos State.
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, also spoke at the event, highlighting the Federal Government’s efforts to address food shortage challenges and insecurity in Nigeria. He emphasized the need for understanding between leaders and the led to overcome the current challenges facing the nation.
Beneficiaries of the palliatives, including people living with disabilities and Islamic clerics, expressed their gratitude to the Federal and State governments, as well as Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for their support.
