The appointment letter was delivered by Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the Anambra Government, at the Government House in Awka on Wednesday.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo confirmed Prof. Kate Omenugha as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
The appointment letter was delivered by Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the Anambra Government, at the Government House in Awka on Wednesday.
Prof. Omenugha had been serving as Acting Vice Chancellor since December 2023.
Her confirmation ends the selection process that started with a formal advertisement on January 2.
Governor Soludo wished Prof. Omenugha success in her tenure and assured her of his administration’s support.
He also called on the university community and stakeholders to give her the needed support, expressing optimism about the institution’s continued growth under her leadership.
Prof. Omenugha is a professor of Mass Communication. She has previously served as Commissioner for Education in Anambra State.
The confirmation marks the end of the selection exercise for the Vice Chancellor position at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
