Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has revealed an ambitious initiative to transform the Igbo-Ukwu Museum into a vibrant showcase of South-Eastern Nigeria’s cultural legacy.
During a visit to the Igbo-Ukwu community in Aguata Local Government Area on Wednesday, where he commissioned multiple projects, Soludo outlined his vision.
“My goal is to reimagine the Igbo-Ukwu Museum as a beacon of our rich Igbo heritage,” Soludo declared, emphasizing the significance of the Igbo-Ukwu bronze, among Nigeria’s most ancient archaeological treasures.
He added, “This project is about more than buildings—it’s about celebrating our identity and ensuring our heritage inspires future generations.”
The governor also inaugurated a renovated Primary Healthcare Center in Obiuno, now called the Comprehensive Medical Center, and a 4.2-kilometer road project led by Mr. Dom Okafor, the Aguata Federal Constituency representative.
The health facility, upgraded through a public-private-community partnership, will provide free antenatal and delivery services, with Soludo promising to deploy medical staff to enhance healthcare access.
“This center reflects what we can achieve through collaboration,” he noted.
The new road, Soludo explained, will boost transportation and economic growth in the region.
He also urged residents to support Chief Emma Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the upcoming Anambra South Senatorial Bye-Election on August 16.
Representing the community, Mr. Barth Nwibe praised Soludo’s transformative policies, stating, “The strides in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development have brought meaningful progress to our communities and the state.”
The event concluded with the Igbo-Ukwu community presenting a N50 million cheque to support Soludo’s re-election campaign for the November 8 governorship election. (NAN)
