Stephen Osemwegie’s journey of academic excellence and professional success is a testament to his determination, intelligence, and hard work. From his studies at the University of Nigeria Nsukka to his impressive career in the corporate world, Stephen has continuously strived for excellence and made significant contributions in his field.
After completing his secondary education at Immaculate Conception College in Benin City, Stephen Osemwegie embarked on his higher education at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He pursued a degree in Geoinformatics and Surveying at the Enugu Campus of the university. Right from the beginning, Stephen displayed exceptional leadership skills as a campus fellowship leader and later took on various student political positions.
During his time at the university, Stephen served as the President of the National Association of Edo State Students (NAESS) UNN Chapter in 2006/2007. His leadership abilities and dedication to his responsibilities were evident, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers. In 2008, he assumed the role of National PRO for NAESS, representing students from across the country.
Academically, Stephen Osemwegie’s brilliance shone through as he consistently performed at the top of his class. Although he narrowly missed a First-Class Honors by 0.2 points, his academic achievements were outstanding. His exceptional performance and remarkable credentials caught the attention of an international aerospace company, which recruited him directly from campus.
Stephen’s professional journey began as a GIS analyst at Aerosprecisa Ltd, where he actively participated in state-wide aerial survey mapping projects in Nasarawa State and parts of Abuja. His role involved coordinating field teams in gathering GPS data across the state. Stephen’s attention to detail, technical expertise, and leadership skills contributed significantly to the success of these mapping initiatives.
Later, Stephen joined the renowned Shell Petroleum Development Company as a contract staff member of Karamat Ltd, working in the Geomatics Department. He was fully deployed to oilfield locations across the Niger Delta Land and Swamp areas, where he played a vital role in routine operations. Supervising oilfield teams in pipeline construction and repairs, Stephen also collaborated with various stakeholders, including government agencies, during joint investigation teams (JIV) for oil spill incidents.
Stephen’s work with the Shell Emergency Response Team further showcased his dedication and ability to handle high-pressure situations. He actively participated in shutdown operations, such as wellhead fires and pipeline vandalizations, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring safety and swift resolution of emergencies. Additionally, he worked with Shell’s cleanup teams, contributing to the restoration of the natural environment after JIVs.
Not one to shy away from new challenges, Stephen ventured into the real estate industry, joining Royal House Realty in Queens, New York. He embraced a different career path and quickly made strides in the field, learning from his Jewish Real Estate Broker. Residential property sales and rentals became his areas of specialty, and his commitment to client satisfaction earned him a reputation for excellence.
Stephen’s pursuit of growth and leadership opportunities led him to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, a global leader in the automotive travel industry. Joining their Management Program, he quickly rose through the ranks, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills and brilliance. His dedication and achievements were recognized with several career promotions and awards during his tenure.
Currently, Stephen serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Stephen Chioma and Partners Properties LLC, where he manages a real estate company with an impressive portfolio of rental properties. His expertise in the field and his commitment to providing quality housing options have made a positive impact on the lives of many.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, Stephen Osemwegie has demonstrated a relentless pursuit of excellence, leadership and resilience.
