Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on citizens of the world to adopt peace and dialogue to foster social harmony and peaceful coexistence.
He made this call during a two-day Muslim World Leaders Conference in Oxford, England.
Abubakar emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace, highlighting the importance of dialogue in resolving global challenges.
He stated, “This is the time for us to engender social harmony and peaceful co-existence as our guiding principle since Islam remains a religion of peace.”
The conference, hosted by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, aims to promote interfaith dialogue, inter-civilizational understanding, and Islamic finance.
The event marked the 40th anniversary of the centre’s establishment and was attended by notable leaders, including King Charles III, former President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, and Saudi Prince Turki Al Faisal.
The Sultan’s call for peace and dialogue serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting understanding and cooperation among nations and communities.
By embracing peace and dialogue, global citizens can work together to address pressing challenges and build a more harmonious world.
