President Bola Tinubu has imposed an immediate temporary ban on the export of raw shea nuts, aiming to strengthen domestic processing and value addition.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, during a briefing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Vice-President Kashim Shettima is currently leading a meeting with key stakeholders to oversee the implementation of the President’s directive.
“The temporary ban on raw shea nut exports is effective immediately,” Kyari stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing local industries.
