Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, confidently predicted that President Bola Tinubu will secure a landslide victory in the South-East during the 2027 elections.
Speaking at a press interaction on the sidelines of her 18th annual free medical and surgical outreach at the Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Medical Centre in Amuda-Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, she highlighted the impact of Tinubu’s reforms as a key factor.
Onyejeocha stated, “I am certain that by 2027, the South-East will overwhelmingly support President Tinubu, delivering 100 percent of its votes.” She attributed this optimism to the transformative reforms initiated by Tinubu, which she believes will yield lasting benefits.
“These reforms need time to take root and deliver results, which is why we must support him for a full eight-year term,” she added.
Reflecting on her home state, she noted, “Abia is progressive, and I am confident that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will perform exceptionally well here.”
A former representative of Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency, Onyejeocha emphasized that her medical outreach reflects her commitment to improving the health and well-being of her constituents, particularly in underserved rural areas.
The minister explained the purpose of the initiative, saying, “A healthy community is a wealthy community. By addressing health challenges, we reduce losses and strengthen our people.”
The ongoing outreach, which began on Monday and was extended due to high turnout, offers free services including cervical cancer screenings, dental care, laboratory tests, and surgeries for conditions like hernia, hydrocele, cataracts, and lipomas.
Onyejeocha also underscored her role in complementing government efforts, stating, “As a minister and former representative, I am adding value to what the government is doing, because it cannot do everything alone.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the outreach has drawn significant participation, reflecting its impact on the community.
