Son Heung-min, the Tottenham Hotspur forward, has snubbed Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and named Brazil’s Neymar as the best player in the world.

Son said this while speaking to reporters ahead of South Korea’s international friendly with Brazil at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Thursday.

The 29-year-old said he is also working hard to become the best player in the world, like Neymar.

He said (via talkSPORT): “Neymar is the best player in the world, and I think I am working hard to become the best player in the world.”

Son recently became the first Asian to win the English Premier League Golden Boot after finishing the 2021-22 season with 23 goals, level with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

His exploits helped Antonio Conte’s side clinch fourth place and a Champions League return after three years.
