ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi –

Two people have been killed in a fatal auto crash that occurred on Monday, at Sabon Garin Nabardo along Bauchi – Toro – Jos road, in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) in Bauchi State, Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident to our Correspondent, said 11 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

He said that 13 people, 12 male adults and one female adult, were involved in the fatal crash.

According to him, a blue Opel Vetra commercial vehicle, Opel Vectra, and a private vehicle, a red Peugeot 406, were involved in the crash.

He said that the accident was caused by speed limit violation and dangerous driving which led to a loss of control.

“Yes, there was a fatal crash that occurred yesterday, Monday, 26th November, 2022 and about 7.50pm. It was reported to us at 8.05pm and our men immediately got to the scene for the rescue operation at 8.10pm.

“The crash which occurred at Sabon Garin Nabrodo, along Toro – Bauchi federal highway involved two vehicles, a commercial and a private.

“The vehicles are a blue commercial Opel Vectra with registration number YAB-221 CW and a red private Peugeot 406 also with registration number: KSF-490 BM.

“There were a total of 13 people comprising of 12 male adults and one female adult involved in the accident. 

“And it was out of this that 11 people comprising of nine male adults and one female adult sustained various degrees of injuries.

“They were rushed to the Toro General Hospital for medical treatment and confirmation where a medical doctor confirmed two people dead. 11 others sustained bruises, fractures and cuts.

“The probable cause of the accident was speed limit violation (SPV); loss of control (LOC) and dangerous driving (DGD).”

The FRSC Boss said that the corpses were deposited at the mortuary after which they would be released to the deceased families for burial.

He lamented the refusal of motorists to obey road traffic regulations pointing out that this is one of the najor causes of crashes that often lead to loss of lives and properties.

“This issue we’ve been talking about compliance tonroad traffic regulations. My appeal to the general public, it is only the living that celebrate. Any aspect of worrying will not be the best.

“I appeal to them to comply with all road traffic regulations so that accidents in our riads can be reduced to the barest minimum,” he appealed.
