FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed Mr. Michael Ango from his position as the acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).
The announcement was made on Friday in Abuja by Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media.
While no reason was provided for the removal, the statement confirmed that the most senior official of the FCT-IRS has been directed to assume leadership of the service with immediate effect.
Ango had been appointed acting chairman in August 2024, taking over from Haruna Abdullahi, who served in the role for approximately three years.
The move signals a change in leadership at the FCT-IRS as the service continues its mandate of revenue collection and administration in the nation’s capital.
