Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has welcomed the return of former Governor and Senator, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a significant boost to the party’s strength and political influence in the state.
Governor Yusuf made this known in a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
According to the statement, Governor Yusuf said arrangements were underway for the formal reception of the former governor into the party, noting that a date would soon be announced in consultation with the national leadership of the APC.
He emphasized that the party in Kano continues to gain momentum, with increasing support from key political stakeholders and grassroots supporters across the state.
Governor Yusuf said Shekarau’s return would further consolidate the party’s structure and enhance its readiness ahead of future elections.
“The party in Kano continues to witness growing support and consolidation, positioning itself as the most dominant political force in the state,” the statement quoted the governor as saying.
He added that the APC remains confident of winning all elective positions in upcoming polls, attributing the optimism to unity within the party and ongoing strategic political alignments.
The governor also assured party members that efforts were being intensified to strengthen internal cohesion and expand the party’s grassroots presence across Kano State.
Governor Yusuf further urged party faithful and supporters to remain committed and intensify mobilization efforts as preparations for future political contests gather momentum.
