Zulum commends CACOVID for providing palliatives to needy people in Borno

SADIQ ABUBAKAR, Maiduguri 

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has commended the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 Committee for providing palliatives to vulnerable and needy individuals to cushion the hard times occasioned by insurgency and COVID-19 lock down.

The governor made the commendation during the flag off ceremony for CACOVID food relief programme in Borno state donated by Aliko Dangote Foundation held at Farm Center Maiduguri.

Represented by his Deputy, Umar Usman Kadafur, the governor said the state government have started receiving supply of food items from the Coalition against covid 19 food programme since may this year and have so far received 65 trucks of various food items.

The governor, therefore commended the wholesome intervention programme of CACOVID to the state especially during the reconstruction time.

The representative of the Central Bank Governor, Hajiya Fatima Asheik Zarma who presented the item’s on behalf of the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 Committee said the food relief packages are supplied to ease the suffering of the most vulnerable households in Borno state and they were committed to partner with the state government to cushion social challenges of the people.

In his vote of thanks, the Chairman State Palliatives Committee, Engineer Bukar Talba expressed gratitude to the  Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 Committee for impacting positively on the lives of the most vulnerable people in Borno state.
