
Governor Zulum Commissioning the State-of-the-Art Dental and Eye Hospitals in Biu LGA

Borno Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum arrived Biu town in the southern part of the state for a two-day working visit on Tuesday to commission a state-of-the-art Orthopaedic and Eye Hospital in Biu town towards enhancing healthcare delivery services in the region, southern Borno.

He also performed the groundbreaking of foundation laying for the construction of a 600 housing estate in Biu, Gubio, Magumeri, and Hawul Local Government Areas of the state which are aimed at addressing the housing needs of the people in the communities.

The governor, further, flagged off the distribution of ₦1 billion financial support and investment scheme to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Biu LGA and its environs. The scheme is designed to empower local businesses and boost economic activities in the region.

Zulum also commissioned Government Day Secondary School in Miringa, as part of his administration’s reinforcement and commitment towards improving the education sector of the state.

The governor was accompanied on the LGA tour by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District at the National Assembly and Hon. Aliyu Mukhtar Betara of the House of Representatives at the National Assembly and other top government officials.
