Zulum flags off distribution of agricultural inputs to Gwoza farmers

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has flagged off the distribution of agricultural inputs to one thousand seven hundreds beneficiaries from Gwoza, Chibok and Damboa Federal Constituency donated by House of Representatives member representing the constituency Honourable Ahmed Usman Jaha.

The occasion which took place at the multi purpose hall of the government house Maiduguri had the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Bukar Tijjani, Members of the executive council, state assembly members, chairmen of Gwoza, Chibok and Damboa as well as the beneficiaries in attendance.

The governor also sympathized with the people of Gwoza over the recent unfortunate killing of farmers in the area, stressing that government will not relent in providing an enabling and securing environment for farming activities to thrive in the state.

Represented by the deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Usman kadafur, the governor poured encomiums on the lawmaker for such a life transforming intervention, saying that “other lawmakers should emulate from him for such kind gesture”

In his remark, the member representing Chibok, Gwoza and Damboa Honourable Ahmed Usman Jaha charged the beneficiaries to effectively utilize the equipments for the overall development of agricultural sector of the state for improved livelihoods.

He also thanked the state government for providing an enabling environment for farmers in the state, the lawmaker warned them against sales of the inputs.

The agricultural inputs distributed include 20 advanced hand tillers, 150 water pumps and 1500 knapsacks.

Some of the beneficiaries could not hide their excitement and prayers as they appreciated the gesture and said this is not the first time they are benefiting from the agricultural support from the house member.

They however appealed to government to intensify security in the area to enable farmers go to farm to produce enough and farm peacefully
