Zulum promotes 5 magistrate court judges to high court judges

Borno State Governor, Babagaba Zulum has sworn in five new state high court judges towards accelerating the effective ligation and dispensation of justice in the state judiciary.

While presiding over the swearing ceremony at the Government House Council Chamber Maiduguri, the governor said as tradition demands, in the judiciary whenever the National Judicial.Commission (NJC) recommends for promotion of Judges, it is duty bound in the state executive to inaugurate such judges .

He also urged the new judges to exhibit good conduct, loyalty as well as be obedient to constituted authorities and the government, stressing that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man in the society.

The newly sworn in High Court Judges confirmed by the National Judicial Council (NJC) include – Buna Makinta, Bukar Malgwi Umar, Mohammed Maina, Hafsatu Isah Bappah and Amina Mustapha Ibrahim.

The Borno State Chief Judge, Justice Kashim Zannah, administered both the oath of allegiance and oath of office to the 5 new high court judges.

He appealed to the state government to improve on the welfare packages of the workers of the state judiciary.

While the Acting Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hauwa Abubakar, thanked the governor for his support and assistance to the ministry while soliciting for more support to the judicial workers .

She further assured continuous loyalty and effective performance of the judiciary workers in the state.
