Zulum resumes work after 21 days vacation, says security remains top priority

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has resumed work after 21 days vacation, during which he transmitted power to his deputy, Hon. Umar kadafur to act as Governor.

The Governor had arrived Maiduguri on Wednesday afternoon.

Addressing top government officials, party leaders and supporters, the governor assured that his administration’s top priority would remained the restoration of peace in the state to enable the revival of mass livelihoods through agricultural and other businesses.

Governor Zulum, while interacting with journalists, also revealed that in the two years of his tenure, his government had constructed hospitals and other health centers as well built many schools among other facilities.

He noted that in the next year, his government would focus on the recruitment of more teachers and health workers to make the health and education facilities functional and also address the demands of the increasing population in the state.

The Governor also said that the recruitment was to provide effective service delivery in the healthcare and educational sectors across the state for the people which are part of his administration’s 10 point agenda.

He further pledged to commission all the projects he executed, while assuring that other capital projects started and those yet to be executed would be completed next year, since some of them are already provided in the 2021 budget under implementation.

Governor Zulum, who noted that his administration would partner with the media, also promised to facilitate the speedy resettlement of all Internally Displace Persons (IDPs) within the State.

He alos assured that Ajiri Village that was recently attacked by the Boko Haram Insurgents would be rebuilt and the IDPs would also return immediately after the reconstruction work is completed as security provisions would be intensified and stationed in the area.
