FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike
By EZEKIEL OBI, Abuja-
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s developmental efforts have effectively dismantled any opposition coalition aiming to unseat the current administration in 2027.
Wike made this assertion during the commissioning of major infrastructure projects in Abuja, including the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and link roads connecting Katampe, Jahi, and Mabushi.
*2027 coalition is bound to fail*
The opposition coalition, spearheaded by notable figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, seems to be losing steam.

Wike dismissed the possibility of the coalition defeating Tinubu in 2027, attributing their struggles to the president’s good works.
He reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s administration, stating that some people will never be happy, regardless of the administration’s efforts.
However, he emphasized that the president’s performance has won over many Nigerians, rendering opposition propaganda ineffective.
Wike’s confidence in Tinubu’s leadership stems from the president’s commitment to delivering capital projects, which has shifted public confidence and left little room for opposition narratives to gain traction.
“The coalition is bound to fail and it has failed. Your good works have killed coalition,” Wike said, directing his comments at President Tinubu.
Under Tinubu’s administration, contractors now have confidence in the government, thanks to prompt payments and a renewed sense of trust.
Wike highlighted that this confidence has enabled contractors to execute projects without hesitation, citing the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge project as a testament to the administration’s effectiveness.
The commissioning of the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and other roads marks a significant milestone in the administration’s infrastructure development drive.
Wike praised Tinubu’s leadership, saying, “Under Tinubu, contractors now have confidence in the government. Your good works have killed the coalition in Nigeria”.
