Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani
Kaduna State Government has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social media claiming that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for National Assembly positions ahead of future political contests.
The government described the report as a fabrication intended to mislead the public and create unnecessary political tension, urging residents to disregard the claim in its entirety.
In a statement issued in Kaduna, the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said the governor has neither endorsed nor anointed any individual seeking elective office.
According to the statement, Governor Sani remains committed to democratic principles and believes strongly in a transparent and fair process that allows party members and stakeholders to determine candidates through established party mechanisms.
“The attention of the Kaduna State Government has been drawn to a misleading message circulating on social media alleging that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for elective positions. This claim is entirely false and should be disregarded,” the statement said.
Maiyaki explained that the governor is presently focused on governance and the implementation of policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Kaduna State, rather than engaging in premature political endorsements.
He also cautioned individuals and groups against spreading fake news and politically motivated misinformation, noting that such actions could mislead the public and generate unnecessary tension within the political environment.
The commissioner therefore urged political actors and members of the public to always verify information from credible and official sources before sharing it, stressing that responsible communication is critical to maintaining peace and political stability in the state.
He reaffirmed that Governor Sani respects the democratic rights of all aspirants and party members, and will continue to ensure that due process and the rule of law guide all political activities in the state.
