Borno State Police Commissioner, CP Yususfu Lawan on Wednesday decorated 84 newly promoted police officers at the Police Command Headquarters, Maiduguri.
CP Lawan said the promoted officers include ten (10 ) Superintendent of Police (SPs) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), eleven (11 ) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs) to Superintendent of Police (SP) and 63 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs) to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)
The decoration was conducted by the State Commissioner and assisted by the DCP Administration, ACP Operations, alongside the wives and relations of the promoted and decorated police officers.
The CP also extended his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and the Chairman Police of the Police Service Commission (PSC) , DIG Hashimu Argungu ( rtd).
He said: “Your new rank is a reflection of your leadership skills, strategic thinking, and ability to inspire your colleagues. As you celebrate your promotions, I urge you to remember that with greater ranks , come greater responsibilities.
“The recent promotion of 84 of our officers to their next rank is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our great nation.
” You must continue to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and leadership. You must be role models to your colleagues and inspire them to strive for excellence.
“Once again, I congratulate you all on your well-deserved promotions. May you continue to serve our nation with dignity, honor, and pride,” Lawan said
