Coordinator of Mbeke Development Centre, Hon Franklin Nwugwu, commissioning the new building on behalf of Senator Nwebonyi

Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has inaugurated a 4-bedroom bungalow built for the late Chief Okinya Ogbaoso at Nkumoro, Mbeke Ishieke Community, Ebonyi State.
Inaugurating the house on behalf of Senator Nwebonyi, the Coordinator of Mbeke Development Centre, Hon Franklin Nwugwu, said that the federal lawmaker was moved to start the project shortly after his visit to Chief Okinya’s compound and noticed that the house of the late Chief was unbefitting of his status.
He vowed to build a deluxe apartment for him because of his enduring legacies.
The Co-ordinator, who spoke extensively on the philanthropic dispositions of the lawmaker, further explained that the Senator started building houses for the needy even as a practising lawyer including granting scholarships to indigent students to aid the actualisation of their academic dreams.
He added that his philosophy of politics is competition in charity. He further pointed out that the Senator did not only drilled borehole in the same compound but also gifted one of his children a new Keke tricycle and empowered other four constituents with motorcycles for the improvement of their livelihood.
In their separate remarks, the eldest son of the late Chief Okinya Ogbaoso— Mr Michael Okinya, his younger brothers –Retired SP Okinya Peter and comrade Okinya Mathias all commended Senator Nwebonyi for his thoughtfulness in remembering their late father, who they described as a selfless community leader and assured him of their massive supports come 2027.
Some stakeholders from the village and the children of Chief Okinya including the village head – Hon. Chibueze Nkwuda, a former Management Committee Member- Hon. Mrs Theresa Okinya, a beneficiary of Keke empowerment – Udoka Okinya took turns to pour out their hearts in thanking Senator Nwebonyi for lifting them out of poverty and prayed God to ceaselessly bless him adding that his second tenure is assured.
NATIONAL ACCORD gathered that the house inaugurated made it over 120 bungalows so far built and furnished for the needy across Ebonyi North zone by the Deputy Chief Whip -Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi.
