African Democratic Congress (ADC) is confident of evicting Governor Hyacinth Alia from the Government House in the 2027 general elections, according to the party’s Pro-tem Chairman in Benue, Mr. Terngu Tsegba.
Tsegba made the assertion during the unveiling of the coalition in Makurdi, promising to provide good governance, ensure security, and grant full local government autonomy if elected.
He emphasized that the party’s administration would be all-inclusive, equitable, and people-oriented.
“The ADC will rule this state with the fear of God; we will adhere to the constitution.
“We will provide good governance and ensure your security. We will work to ensure that all our internally displaced people can return to their ancestral homes,” Tsegba said.
The ADC Pro-tem Chairman outlined the party’s agenda, which includes: Granting local government autonomy, ensuring that all local governments receive their subventions directly into their accounts; disbanding the joint account; scrapping the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; providing job opportunities for the youth; ensuring equitable distribution of offices and treating everyone as a stakeholder in the state, regardless of their background or socio-economic status
“We will treat everyone as a stakeholder in this state, whether you are rich or poor, young or old, or from any tribe; we will treat everyone equally,” Tsegba emphasized.
The party’s leadership is confident of reclaiming power in the state, with Senator Oker Jev expressing faith in the party’s leadership to lead the state out of its current challenges. Mr. Chile Igbawua, who spoke for Benue North, assured the people that they would not be disappointed for supporting the ADC.
The ADC’s unveiling of its coalition marks a significant development in the state’s political landscape. With its promise of good governance, security, and local government autonomy, the party is positioning itself as a viable alternative to the current administration.
