
Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully commissioned the turn-in-turn-out connections for the Ihovbor/Benin and Ihovbor/Ajaokuta 330kV Transmission Lines at 19:05 hours yesterday, Wednesday, 23rd April, 2026.
The company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, announced this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.
Mrs. Mbah said the commissioning delivers the Ihovbor corridor and provides additional evacuation capacity for the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and Azura Power.
“Presently, the Ihovbor/Benin Transmission Line is tramsmitting 200MW, while the Ihovbor/Ajaokuta line is transmitting 90MW.
“The new connections are expected to strengthen power evacuation from the Ihovbor generating plant and improve grid stability and reliability in the affected regions”, she said.
