
VP Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Tinubu paid condolence visit to the family of late President Muhammadu Buhari in London

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has paid a condolence visit to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
The visit was made on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, who tasked Shettima with accompanying Buhari’s body to Nigeria for burial.

Shettima’s visit was a gesture of respect to the late statesman, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023.
During the visit, Shettima was accompanied by several dignitaries, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.

Visits to Other Notable Figures
In addition to visiting Buhari’s family, Shettima also paid a courtesy visit to the late President’s nephew, Malam Mamman Daura, who is recuperating in a London hospital.

Furthermore, he visited former Military Head of State, Retired General Abdulsalami Abubakar, who is convalescing after a recent hospital discharge.
Shettima’s visit comes as preparations are underway for the repatriation of Buhari’s body to Nigeria, where he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
