
Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, new Emir of Gusau
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has appointed Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello as the 16th Emir of Gusau, following the passing of his father, Dr. Ibrahim Bello, on July 25, 2025.
The late emir had served as the 15th Emir of Gusau for ten years, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service.
The appointment of Alhaji Abdulkadir was made based on the traditional recommendation of the Gusau Emirate kingmakers, in line with established customs and relevant laws.
As the eldest son of the late emir, Alhaji Abdulkadir held the revered traditional title of Bunun Gusau before his appointment.
Governor Lawal congratulated the new emir and urged him to uphold the noble legacy of his forefathers, particularly as a direct descendant of Malam Sambo Dan Ashafa. He emphasized the importance of promoting unity, peace, and development across the Gusau Emirate and beyond.
The governor encouraged Alhaji Abdulkadir to be a beacon of harmony and progress, fostering coexistence among the people .
