National President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) and wife of the Chief of Defence Staff, Barrister Lilian Ogogo Christopher G. Musa, has provided N200,000 cash and grinding machines to 31 widows of fallen heroes who died in active service during the counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram in the North East, under the JTF Operation Hadin Kai Theater Command in Maiduguri.
The initiative, aimed at supporting the widows, orphans, and female soldiers, included the distribution of grinding machines to alleviate poverty and foster self-reliance.

During the event on Tuesday at the Maimalari Cantonment Military Cemetery along Monguno Road, Maiduguri, Mrs. Musa laid a wreath to honor the fallen heroes, emphasizing that their sacrifices inspire serving troops to end the insurgency.
She prayed for the repose of the departed souls and urged the families to remain resilient and prayerful.
Addressing the widows and orphans at the Maj. Gen. M. S. Aliyu Hall in the Maimalari Cantonment Army Officers Mess, Mrs. Musa encouraged them to use the donated tools effectively to improve their livelihoods. She reaffirmed DEPOWA’s commitment to ongoing welfare programs for the families of fallen heroes, assuring them of continued support.
Mrs. Musa also called on the beneficiaries to pray for President Bola Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and the nation’s peace, unity, and stability.
She urged them to remain loyal, obedient to authorities, and enterprising while promising to return for a second batch of beneficiaries.
