President Bola Tinubu has authorized the development of two 300-bed hostels at the Nigerian Law School in Abuja, tasking the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, with overseeing the immediate commencement of the project.
This directive was disclosed on Tuesday in Abuja through a statement by Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister.
According to the statement, the proposed hostels—separately designated for male and female students—will be located within the premises of the Law School and are aimed at addressing the accommodation needs of its student population.
In addition to the hostel project, President Tinubu also ordered the construction of a road connecting the Body of Benchers’ Secretariat in the Jabi District to Nile University.
This new road is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the area, particularly around the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Both infrastructure initiatives are to be carried out under emergency provisions to fast-track their completion.
