US President Donald Trump and the AI generated image of Jesus Christ
US President Donald Trump has deleted an AI-generated image of himself that appeared to depict him in a Jesus-like pose after widespread backlash from religious commentators.
The image, posted on his Truth Social account, showed Trump in flowing robes with light radiating from his body as he touched what appeared to be a sick man, with an American flag and admiring figures in the background.

The post, shared late Sunday and removed on Monday, drew criticism from conservative Christian voices who described it as blasphemous.
Responding to the controversy, Trump denied any religious intent behind the image, saying, “I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do Red Cross,” adding, “It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better.”
Prominent critics, including conservative commentator Megan Basham, condemned the post, writing, “I don’t know if the President thought he was being funny or if he is under the influence of some substance or what possible explanation he could have for this OUTRAGEOUS blasphemy,” and called for its removal and apology.
Trump has previously faced similar controversies over religious imagery, including sharing a courtroom sketch in 2023 showing him seated beside Jesus during his fraud trial.
