Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke and Afrobeat singer, Davido
Afrobeats superstar Davido has stepped away from his music schedule to actively campaign for the re-election of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the Osun governorship race.
The announcement was made in Ede, where he was unveiled as chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Team, a group focused on mobilising young voters across the state.
Davido told supporters he would dedicate the next two months entirely to the political effort, saying, “I have put my musical career on hold for two months to come and work for my uncle.”
He explained that his involvement goes beyond family loyalty, noting his belief that the governor still has more to deliver for the people.
The singer also urged campaign members to engage directly with communities and highlight the administration’s achievements to voters.
Reacting on X, Adeleke welcomed Davido’s role, expressing confidence that his influence would energise youth participation as the election approaches.
