One of the eliminated terrorists
In a continued effort to dismantle terrorist strongholds and restore peace in Zamfara State, troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have executed a series of coordinated clearance operations targeting identified terrorist enclaves.
Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, confirmed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Lt. Col. Danja said the operations, launched in the early hours of 4 May 2026, covered critical locations, including Maikwanuga village (Talata Mafara LGA), Aljumma, Gidan Dawa, Magami Didi and Tungar Magaji villages (Maradun LGA).
According to him, during the advance, troops engaged terrorists in Tungar Magaji with overwhelming firepower, neutralizing 2 terrorists and forcing others to flee in disarray.
“Following the engagement, troops conducted a thorough search of the area, recovering one AK-47 rifle with 30 rounds loaded magazine and one motorcycle.
“The operations are part of a sustained campaign to dismantle terrorist hideouts within the Bagega–Sunke forest corridor and ensure lasting security for affected communities.
“Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains steadfast in its mission to protect lives and property and will continue to sustain offensive actions against terrorists in its area of responsibility. The public is urged to support these efforts by providing timely and credible information to security agencies.
