Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma
Progressive Governors Forum has denied reports claiming that Hope Uzodimma was removed as chairman of the forum, describing the story as false and misleading.
In a statement released by the forum’s Director General, Folorusho Aluko on Thursday, the group said no meeting was convened where such a decision was discussed or approved.
The forum maintained that Governor Uzodimma remains the duly recognised chairman and continues to lead the body. According to the statement, reports circulating on some media platforms were completely fabricated and did not originate from the PGF Secretariat.
“The Forum remains united, focused, and committed to its responsibilities,” the statement said.
The organisation further stressed that there had been no resolution or internal disagreement regarding the leadership of the forum.
It urged the public, party supporters and media organisations to ignore the report entirely.
The forum also reaffirmed that governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress still have confidence in Uzodimma’s leadership.
