
Late Mayor Ojeifo
A retired vice principal and respected teacher,
Mayor Tajudeen Ojeifo, has died at the age of 73 after a prolonged illness.
He passed away on June 27, 2026, in Agbede, according to a family statement issued by his son, Frank Ojeifo.
An alumnus of Auchi Polytechnic and the University of Benin, Ojeifo devoted most of his life to teaching in secondary schools across Edo North.
He began his teaching career at Imade College, Owo, before spending many years at Government Technical College, Igarra, where he mentored thousands of students.
Colleagues and former students described him as a disciplined, selfless, and dedicated educator whose impact went beyond the classroom.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Ojeifo, five children, three grandchildren, and two younger brothers, including publisher Sufuyan Ojeifo.
Tributes have poured in from family, friends, former students, and associates following news of his passing.
Among those who paid tribute were Senior Advocate of Nigeria Oladipo Okpeseyi and APC chieftain Abiodun Ogundele, who praised his dedication to education and prayed for his family.
Many across Igarra and Edo North will remember Mayor Ojeifo as a principled, energetic, and committed teacher who helped shape generations of future leaders.
