Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to rescue victims abducted from a private hostel in Ipara, following the attack by suspected kidnappers on Wednesday night.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, said the command, working in collaboration with other security agencies, had launched a coordinated operation aimed at securing the safe release of the victims and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
According to the police, security operatives swung into action immediately after receiving a distress report of the incident, deploying tactical teams and intelligence assets to the affected area.
“The Ogun State Police Command is aware of the abduction incident at a private hostel in the Ipara area on the night of Wednesday, July 29, 2026,” the statement said.
It added, “Immediately the distress report was received, the Police and other security agencies activated a coordinated operational response, deploying tactical teams and intelligence assets to the area. Rescue operations are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of those responsible.”
The command urged parents, students and residents to remain calm while security personnel continue efforts to rescue the abducted victims.
The police also cautioned members of the public against spreading unverified information that could jeopardize the ongoing operation.
“The Ogun State Police Command appeals to parents, students, and the general public to remain calm and disregard any misinformation capable of undermining the ongoing operations,” the statement added.
Residents were encouraged to support security efforts by promptly reporting suspicious individuals or activities through the state’s emergency channels.

Police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the victims’ safe return while sustaining efforts to track down and arrest those behind the abduction.
