Borno State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities by ensuring they receive equal opportunities, necessary support, and are treated with dignity without any form of discrimination or exclusion.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, gave the assurance when the leadership of organisations representing persons with disabilities paid him a courtesy visit in Maiduguri.
During the meeting, the delegation appealed to the state government to expedite the passage of the Disability Bill and strengthen policies that guarantee the inclusion and protection of persons with disabilities across all sectors of society.
Tar assured the delegation that the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum remains committed to inclusive governance and will continue to promote policies that protect the rights and improve the livelihoods of persons with disabilities.
