
Osun APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji
All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has cast his vote, expressing optimism that he will emerge victorious when the ballots are counted.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, arrived at Polling Unit 11, Ward 9, Open Space Gantry Sawmill, Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area, alongside his wife, Sekinat, at about 10:45 a.m. He was accredited immediately before voting.
Speaking with journalists after voting, the APC candidate praised the turnout of voters and the peaceful atmosphere at his polling unit.
«“INEC (people) are here; the voters are here; security operatives are here. I want to commend the large turnout of voters in Ikire.»
«“It shows that people are not intimidated, and generally, things are going on fine across the state,” he said.»
Oyebamiji also expressed confidence that the governorship election would be conducted peacefully while calling on security agencies to remain vigilant throughout the exercise.
«“I believe the election will be credible, and I am confident that I will win this election at the end of the day,” he said.»
He further urged the police and other security operatives to be proactive in safeguarding lives and maintaining law and order across the state during the election.
The governorship poll is being monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and election observers, with voting underway across polling units in Osun State.
