All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has come to the defense of President Bola Tinubu, rejecting allegations that he is exploiting the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari for political gains.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, described the claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “baseless, tasteless, and a new low in political desperation.”
Oladejo emphasized that Tinubu’s attendance at memorial events and public tribute to Buhari reflect loyalty and national leadership, rather than opportunism.

He noted that Tinubu and Buhari shared a political alliance rooted in mutual respect, democratic ideals, and nation-building.
The APC condemned the ADC for attempting to politicize a moment of national grief, saying the party is “out of touch with the mood of the nation.”
Oladejo urged Nigerians to see through the ADC’s “dangerous attempt to politicise a moment of collective reflection” and called on the ADC to tender an immediate apology to the family of the late President, the Nigerian people, and the office of the President.
The APC stated that it will not be drawn into the “wrong politics” of the ADC and that President Tinubu remains focused on governance, national security, economic revival, and honoring those who have served the nation with distinction.
