Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed claims that he entered into any electoral understanding or political partnership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before, during or after the recently concluded governorship election.
In a statement shared on his official X account on Tuesday, the governor said his administration owed its re-election solely to God and the overwhelming support of the people of Osun State.
“I had no electoral deal or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the governorship election.”
Adeleke attributed his victory to divine intervention and the confidence reposed in him by voters across the state.
“The credit for our victory goes to God Almighty and the good people of Osun State for their overwhelming support and re-election.”
The governor also sought to set the record straight regarding the political groups that worked with his campaign, insisting that the ADC was not among the parties that formed the coalition supporting his re-election bid.
“For the sake of history, it is important to clarify that the ADC was never part of the rainbow coalition that canvassed, mobilised, and supported our campaign in the battle leading to last Saturday’s election.”
Adeleke expressed appreciation to the political allies and supporters who contributed to his electoral success, acknowledging their dedication throughout the campaign.
“I commend all our political partners who sacrificed, worked tirelessly, and went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. Their commitment and support were instrumental to our success.”
The governor further pledged to govern inclusively, assuring residents that his administration would continue to serve every citizen regardless of political affiliation, religion or ethnic background.
“Now that the election is over, I remain the Governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or tribe. My commitment is to unite our people and continue working for the progress and prosperity of Osun State.”
