Chelsea’s new signing Jordan Henderson has addressed concerns over his age, insisting he is determined to prove he still has plenty to offer at the highest level.
The experienced midfielder admitted that his age would dominate discussions following his arrival at Stamford Bridge but said he is focused on changing the narrative through his performances.
“I think there will be a big talking point with my age coming here, but I hope by the time I leave everybody recognises what I can give and bring to this club.”
The former Liverpool captain also pledged total commitment to the Blues, promising to leave everything on the pitch every time he represents the club.
“I’ll give absolutely everything every day for this club.”
Henderson arrives at Chelsea with a wealth of Premier League and international experience, leadership and a winning mentality. The veteran midfielder believes his performances, rather than his age, will ultimately define his time at Stamford Bridge.
