Another set of gun manufacturers arrested in Benue

Barely one week after the Benue State Police Command said it had arrested gun manufacturers in Kwande Local Government Area of the state, another set of gun manufacturers have been apprehended by the state police command.

Briefing journalists, Wednesday in his office in Makurdi, the State Police Commissioner, Emmanuel Adesina informed that it was part of effort of the command to clamp down on proliferation of fire arms in Benue State and the intelligence gathering on arm manufacturers led the team of Operation Zenda JTF which invaded an arm manufacturing hideout at Amahundu, Nanev, Kwande LGA, where they arrested the suspects

Those arrested, according to the Commissioner includes, Terver Terfa aka “Gadafi” 24 yrs,
Aondonaugen Tse-aa 36 yrs, Torkuma Iorlaha 27 yrs, Hangeior Atim 25 yrs, and Tyav Terwase 35 yrs.

Others were Gundu Gbagbogum 50 yrs, Terwase Shimashan 20 yrs and Terese Terver aka “Gbatiir” 18 yrs all of various addresses in Kwande Local Government Area and Adinga Ramseydihno 33 years from Republic of Cameroon.

The police Commissioner told newsmen that the suspects have already confessed to have been involved in manufacturing, local sales and export of arms.

Exhibits recovered from them according to the Benue State Police include; eight (8) Barretta pistols under fabrication, one (1) fabricated AK47 rifle, ten (10) AK47 live ammunition, five (5) Barretta Pistol ammunition, four (4) welding gas cylinders and other fabricating materials. Investigation is ongoing to unravel the source of their raw material and other possible hideouts. Criminal are therefore warn to desist from such act or face the consequences.
