The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has denied media reports that it is planning to close down the institution due to economic hardship bedeviling the country.
The management, in a statement through the Director, Information and Public Relations, Zailani Bappa, described the report published in the DW Hausa Service as “fabricated.”
It said that the nobody spoke to the media organization on behalf of the university.
“The attention of the Management of the University is drawn to an fabricated news credited to the DW (Hausa) on where it mentioned that ATBU may close down due to economic hardship.
“The management of the University categorically debunk this story from whatever source it was generated. In fact, nobody spoke to DW on behalf of the University nor issued out any information to that medium in this regard.
“The public is therefore, requested to be wary of Information shared in the name of the University without authentic source,” Bappa stated.
